Pre-Engineered Buildings

Pre-engineered and multi-storey steel buildings, fabricated on automatic beam lines and robotic welding cells: built-up columns and tapered rafters, drilled, blasted and painted in our works. 2,000 T delivered for a single food-factory expansion.

Any span, any bay

Spans, bays and heights are set by your design; this model is only an example, half sheeted so the frame shows. What we show is how each member is made.

Columns off the beam line

H and I columns are built from plate on an automatic fit-up and beam build-up line: the three plates matched and tacked, then fed and stitch-welded automatically, then fully welded on the SAW line.

How is it possible at Allmarc?

Used here for: Columns off the beam line

  • Plates matched and tack-welded
  • Automatic feed and stitch welding
  • H and I sections built from plate

Tapered rafters on the robot

Non-uniform sections such as tapered rafters are welded on our Cloos robot. Its tandem torch melts two wires at once: faster welding with deeper penetration.

Drilled, not burned

Connection holes and slots in rolled and built-up sections are drilled on the Kotec CNC beam line, the machine at the heart of this industry.

Used here for: Drilled, not burned

Heavy profiles that need precise holes, where plasma cannot do the job: the lower structure and panel borders of a ground flare, and every bolted PEB and multi-storey frame.

  • H-beams up to 1,000 x 500 mm
  • Drills 3 faces in one pass
  • Channels, angles and box sections

Secondary steel

Cold-formed purlins and girts, roll-formed and punched to length.

Blasted and painted in the works

A 15 m paint booth takes the longest PEB members. A sealed, conveyor-fed blasting line for long sections is being added.

Our PEB projects

Steel buildings we have delivered.

Multi-storey steel

Buildings that go up bolted.

Multi-storey steel frames, once used mainly in process and chemical plants, are now used widely for buildings: a steel and concrete composite that performs well in earthquakes and goes up far faster than cast-in-situ work.

Sections arrive drilled, and the frame is bolted up as fast as the crane can set it; floors and cladding follow. The drilling and slotting that makes that possible runs on the same Kotec beam line the largest steel builders use.

How we build the frame
  • Built-up columns on the fit-up, beam build-up and SAW lines
  • Tapered members on the Cloos tandem robot
  • Holes and slots on the Kotec CNC beam line
  • End faces milled square for bolted splices
  • Blasted and painted in the works
Why Allmarc
