Grip-Strut is a one-piece steel plank with a serrated, open walking surface. It is rated R13 for slip resistance, drains itself, and is made and patented in India by Allmarc. Heavy-duty Grip-Strut walkways serve Vande Bharat maintenance depots at Jaipur, Shakur Basti in Delhi and Jodhpur.
Planks are roll-formed in one piece, up to 8 m long, with hooks for scaffolding or drilled for clips on walkways. Heavy-duty planks use thicker steel for larger loads.

This is our own Grip-Strut panel, exactly as we model it for production. The walking face is rows of lens-shaped openings, each ringed by a raised, toothed lip.

Every lip is serrated, so a boot grips in every direction. In the ramp test the surface held to a slip angle of 46 degrees, dry and wet with oil: slip grade R13.

Every lip rings an opening. Mud, oil, water and debris fall through, so the surface stays clear.

The plank is a single strip of steel, roll-formed into a channel with return lips. With no welds or joints there are no weak points, and it is about 40% lighter than bar grating. Slotted holes in the sides take the fixings.

For scaffolding, forged hooks at the 4 corners drop over the ledger, so the plank fits Cuplock and Ringlock systems. On walkways and platforms it is fixed with clips and bolts, as in the video below.
Work boots on Grip-Strut. The serrated lips bite in every direction, so the step holds on mud, oil or ice.
Heavy-duty Grip-Strut roof-level walkways in Vande Bharat maintenance depots at Jaipur, Shakur Basti in Delhi and Jodhpur. Staff walk the length of the train to service pantographs and roof AC units.
On walkways and platforms the plank is fixed to its supports with a clip, a bolt and a washer plate. No welding on site.
Grip-Strut comes in a range of widths, set by the number of rows of openings across the plank.
