The plank

A steel channel in mild steel IS 2062 E250 or pre-galvanised IS 277. Finishes: painted, pre-galvanised, hot-dip galvanised or powder coated.

  • Height: 25 to 100 mm
  • Width: 200 to 1,000 mm
  • Length: 200 to 8,000 mm
  • Thickness: 1.8 to 5 mm

Perforations

Round dimples, cross capsules or star capsules are pressed up from the deck. They give grip underfoot, and the open holes let water drain.

Allstage plank

A roll-formed plank with a rib pressed along each side. The ribs add strength without adding depth, so the plank is lighter.
