Track Slab Mould

Moulds for the precast track slabs of high-speed rail. The slab is more than 5 m long and only 190 mm thick, for trains above 350 km/h. We are among the first in India to make these moulds.

How this mould works

A track slab replaces sleepers and ballast. Every rail seat has to be in the right place to a fraction of a millimetre, and the mould sets that. This is our own model of the mould.

Soffit bed and anchor pins

The slab is cast on the machined bottom of the tray. The anchor pins for the rail fastenings are set in it, so they come out in the same place on every slab.

Side shutters

The sides are double-rimmed and ribbed to stay true under wet concrete. Hinges and toggle clamps close them for the pour and open them to strip.

Ends with the half-round notch

Each end of the tray forms the half-round notch of the slab, with the lifting points beside it.
